About

Lee Adkins is a 23 year old Computer Engineering student at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with great interest in rich web applications, APIs, and the future of new media.

Hi!

I’m Lee Adkins. I live just outside my birthplace of Chattanooga, TN, in a small town named Jasper.

I’m currently a computer science student at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. My concentration is in Computer Engineering, but I’ve patterned most of my coursework around algorithm design and software.

I’m a part-time developer looking to get out of the other half of my part-time job: retail. I’ve worked for a local small-box electronics retailer for about 6 years now, and I think it may be time to jump. The new media water is starting to look just fine.

I like community. Not just online, but offline too. I’ve got a core group of friends that always seems to find each other even after months apart, so I’ve grateful for that. I’m really excited about the possibilities all these new social networking sites bring to the table; where we can turn online acquaintances into offline…well, something. SXSW style.

I like to focus on web technologies. I like Ruby, PHP, and Python. I forced myself into Actionscript because AIR is really rad.  HTML and CSS are becoming second nature, and standards-compliance and usability is always at the top of list of importance. Any personal development I do is placed under my Ravsonic brand, a one-man web application development show I’ve been playing around with for the better part of 5 years now.

Contact me. I want to talk. You can find me at any of the social sites listed to the right, or email me at lee at ravsonic com.

Hi. I'm Lee Adkins, and this is me. I do a little software design work, and you'll be able to see the fruits of that labor at www.ravsonic.com as it completes. On this site, you'll get whatever I'm thinking, whenever that happens to be.
