In case you’ve been living under a rock for the past week, Flickr launched their much-anticipated video feature. Die hard photogs launched complaints about it, saying that Flickr is for photos, not videos.
These aren’t videos. These are moving pictures. Let me explain it to you.
You can only load a 90s clip up to Flickr. You precious Flickr isn’t going to degrade to Youtube anytime soon. The way the 90s videos fall inline with the photos is ingenious. How many times have you looked at a photo on and wished you could experience more? I have countless times. These little videos allow users to get a little more of the experience a photographer was trying to express in a photo. A picture of an awesome store is one thing. Getting to feel 90 seconds of it is another. Sure, you’ll get some things in there that aren’t really that great, but the possibilities for this feature far outweigh the cons.
